Oil pump
Components
The rotating moment of an inhaling. |
Removal
- Disconnect a negative cable from the battery.
- Merge engine oil.
- Remove an oil pan and a grid of the oil pump. Address to the Section Oil pan and a grid of the oil pump in this Chapter.
- Uncover asterisks of the oil pump (1).
- Remove the oil pump (2) from the pallet of a case (1).
Do not clean an asterisk from the oil pump. The axis of the oil pump that will lead to misoperation of the oil pump can be otherwise damaged. |
Dismantling
Disassemble the oil pump.
1 — the case of the oil pump No. 1 2 — the case of the oil pump No. 2 3 — an external rotor 4 — a safety valve 5 — a counterbalancing spring 6 — a clamp |
Check
- Check an external rotor, an internal rotor and cases of the oil pump about excessive wear or damage.
- Check a safety valve about excessive wear or damage.
If any repair of an external rotor, an internal rotor and to cases of the oil pump is necessary, replace them as uniform knot. |
- Measure length of a counterbalancing spring of the oil pump in free and in the compressed condition.
Technical characteristics of a counterbalancing spring of the oil pump
Norm
Length of a spring in a free condition
63.5 mm (2.5 inches)
Spring loading
86.0 N for 52.0 mm
8.6 kg for 52.0 mm
62.2 inch pounds/2.05
- Measure a gap between a rotor of the oil pump and the case of the oil pump.
Radial gap
Check a radial gap between an external rotor (2) and the case (1) by means of a kalibromer (4). If the gap falls outside the limits norm, replace an external rotor or the case. A limit of a radial gap between an external rotor and the case: 0.15 mm (0.0059 inches).
1 — the case 2 — an external rotor 3 — an internal rotor 4 — a kalibromer |
Lateral gap
By means of a ruler (5) and a kalibromer (4) measure a lateral gap. Limits of a lateral gap: 0.11 mm (0.0043 inches).
1 — the case of the oil pump No. 1 2 — an external rotor 3 — an internal rotor 4 — a kalibromer 5 — a ruler |
Installation
- Wash, clean and then dry all disassembled parts.
- Put engine oil with a thin layer on external and internal rotors, and internal surfaces of the case of the oil pump.
- Establish an external rotor in the pump No. 1 case.
- Establish the safety valve (3), counterbalancing spring (2) and a clamp (1) in the case of the oil pump No. 2 (4). Fasten a clamp to the specified rotating moment. The rotating moment of an inhaling: a clamp of a spring of a safety valve of the oil pump (and) — 29 N • m (2.9 kg-m, 21.0 pound on foot).
- Insert bolts of the case of the oil pump (5) into the case of the oil pump No. 2.
- Collect the oil pump. And then be convinced that the rotor smoothly rotates a hand. The rotating moment of an inhaling: bolt of the case of the oil pump (and): 12 N • m (1.2 kg-m, 9.0 pound on foot).
Installation
- Establish the oil pump (2) on the pallet of a case (1) and fasten bolts the every rotating moment. The rotating moment of an inhaling: bolt of the oil pump (and): 27 N • m (2.7 kg-m, 19.5 pound on foot).
At installation of the oil pump be careful and do not drop bolts. |
- Establish a cover of an asterisk of the oil pump (1), and fasten bolts the every rotating moment. The rotating moment of an inhaling: a bolt of a cover of an asterisk of the oil pump (and) — 11 N • m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 pound on foot).
- Establish an oil pan and a grid of the oil pump. Address to the Section Oil pan and a grid of the oil pump in this Chapter.
- Fill the engine with engine oil, having addressed to the Section Engine oil and the filter in Head Maintenance and greasing.
- Connect a negative cable to the accumulator.
- On termination of installation check pressure of oil, having started the engine. Address to the Section Check of pressure of oil in this Chapter.
