Main cable of blocking

At removal and installation of a cable of blocking do not bend it strongly, differently the system will incorrectly work.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect "minus" (–) a cable from the battery.
  2. If there is a safety cushion system, disconnect it.
  3. Uncover openings of a steering column.
  4. Incline a steering column, if it adjustable. If it is not adjustable, weaken bolts of a steering column.
  5. Uncover a steering column.

Type 1

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a bolt of a clip of a cable of the blocking, being on the ignition switch.
  2. Disconnect the internal end of a cable of blocking (from the ignition switch).

  1. Having removed a console box, pull out a blocking cable, having weakened lock-nuts.
  2. In pressing of a teeth of a lug of a cam of blocking disconnect the cable end from a blocking cam (or a cam of an unblocking of a key). Be thus careful not to damage a teeth.

Type 2

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Turn the ignition switch in the situation "ACC".
  1. In bracket pressing a screw-driver with a flute (3) pull out a cable of blocking of a key (1) of a cover of the cylinder of a key (2).
  1. Turn the ignition switch in situation "LOCK" (BLOCKING).
  2. Remove a console box.
  1. In pressing of a teeth (3) lugs of a cam of blocking disconnect the end of a cable (1) from a cam of blocking (2). Be thus careful not to damage a teeth.
  1. In pressing of a bracket disconnect a protective cap of a cable (4) from an arm of the lever of a choice of transfer (5).
  2. Remove a blocking cable.

Installation

Type 1

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Switch the lever of a choice of transfer to the situation "N" and turn the ignition key in the situation "ACC".
  2. Connect the internal end of a cable of blocking to the lever of blocking of a key (from the ignition switch).
  3. Establish an arm of the external end of a cable of blocking on the switch of ignition and tighten a bolt to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Moment of an inhaling (a): 2.2 N • m (0.22 kg-m, 1.5 pounds foots).

  1. Pass and connect a blocking cable.
1 — a blocking cable
2 — a steering column
3 — the holder of a steering column
  1. Fix a blocking cam, having inserted a hairpin in diameter about 4 mm (0.15 inches) into openings of a cam and a lever plate.
  2. Establish the cable end on a cam of blocking and a hairpin and, having convinced that the sheet spring pushes the external end of a cable in the arrow B direction, tighten a fixing nut to the specified value of the moment of an inhaling. Remove a hairpin. Moment of an inhaling (a): 13 N • m (1.3 kg-m, 9.5 pounds foots).
  3. Turn the ignition key in the situation "ACC", switch the lever of a choice of transfer to the situation "N" and check the following:
    • When the lever of a choice of transfer is switched in the situation "P" with the pressed button of the handle, the ignition key does not turn from the situation "ACC" in the situation "LOCK" (BLOCKING).
    • When the button of the handle is released, the ignition key can be turned in the situation "LOCK" (BLOCKING).
    • When the ignition key is in the situation "LOCK" (BLOCKING), the lever of a choice of transfer cannot be switched from the situation "P" in any other situation.
  4. Establish a console box.
  5. Establish a cover of a steering column.
  6. Adjust a steering column or tighten bolts of a steering column.
  7. Establish a cover of an opening of a steering column.
  8. If there is a safety cushion system, include it.

Type 1

1 — a blocking cam
2 — a lever plate
3 — a blocking cable
4 — a hairpin диам. 4 mm (0.15 inches)

Type 2

Type 2

1-1 — a blocking cable for the levorulny car
1-2 — a blocking cable for the right-hand drive car

2-1 — the key cylinder for the levorulny car
2-2 — the key cylinder for the right-hand drive car


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Put a blocking cable how it was laid initially.
  2. Turn the ignition switch in the situation "ACC".
  3. Reliably establish a protective cap of a cable (1) in a cover of the cylinder of a key (2).
Type 2.
  1. Stretch and attach a blocking cable.
  1. Extend the button of blocking (1) on the cable end from the lever of a choice of transfer (2).
  1. Switch the lever of a choice of transfer to the situation "N".

If the lever of a choice of transfer is in the situation "P", switch it as it is described in the Section the Manual selector.


  1. Establish a protective cap of a cable (3) on an arm of the lever of a choice of transfer (4).
  1. Connect the end of a cable (1) to a cam of blocking (2), previously having turned the ignition switch in the situation "ACC".
  2. Establish the button of blocking (5) in the cable end, moving it until it will not block lengthening and cable reduction.
  3. Having established the lever of a choice of transfer to the situation "P", turn the ignition key in the situation "ACC" and check the following:
    • When the button of the handle is not pressed, the ignition key can be turned from the situation "ACC" in the situation "LOCK" (BLOCKING).
    • When the button of the handle is pressed, the ignition key does not turn from the situation "ACC" in the situation "LOCK" (BLOCKING).
  4. Establish a console box.
  5. Establish a cover of a steering column.
  6. Adjust a steering column or tighten bolts of a steering column.
  7. Establish a cover of an opening of a steering column.
  8. If the car is equipped with safety cushion system, connect minus a cable of the battery and include safety cushion system.
