Precautionary measures at diagnostics of malfunctions

Before verification of diagnostic information (codes of malfunctions (DTC), data of a frame of freezing, etc.), being in memory of the electronic control unit (PCM), do not disconnect a hitch from the electronic control unit (PCM (ECM)), a battery cable from the battery, wires of grounding of the electronic control unit (PCM) from the engine or the main fuse. Such shutdown will erase being stored in memory of the electronic control unit (RSM) information.

At the car without the socket for the monitor it is possible to check or erase the diagnostic information which is storing in memory of the electronic control unit (RSM), by means of the scanning SUZUKI tool (Tech-1) or the universal scanning tool. Prior to the beginning of work with the scanning tool attentively study the instruction on its operation well to understand its functions and application.

Sequence order at diagnostics of malfunctions (only for the car without the socket for the monitor):

If in memory there are two or more codes of malfunctions (DTC), find in the table of codes of malfunctions (DTC) that code which was found by system the first, and follow the instructions specified in the table.

If no instructions are present, eliminate malfunctions of the specified codes in the following sequence:

  • Any codes of malfunction (DTC), except the P 0171/P 0172 codes (fuel system too poor \too rich) and the P 0400 code (malfunction in system of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR)).
  • Codes of malfunction of P 0171/P 0172 (Fuel system too poor \too rich) and the P 0400 code (malfunction in system of a retsirkulyatsiya of the fulfilled gases (EGR)).

Before check read in Head the General information the Precautionary measure Section at service of electric chains and observe them at work.

Replacement of the electronic control unit (RSM)

At replacement of the serviceable electronic control unit (PCM), check the following:

The neglect such check can lead to damage of serviceable PCM.

  • Resistance on all relays and drives corresponds to the specified values.
  • The sensor of weight of air (MAF), the pressure sensor in the inlet pipeline (MDP), the sensor of provision of a throttle (TP) and the pressure sensor in a fuel tank are in a good condition, and a power chain of these sensors are not closed накоротко on grounding.
