Klapanny gap

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable from the accumulator.
  2. Uncover heads of cylinders, having addressed to the Section the Cover of a head of cylinders in this Chapter.
  1. Using 17 mm the plug, turn a pulley of a cranked shaft (1) clockwise while the mark "V" (white paint) (2) on a pulley will not be made even to «0» (zero) calibrated on a cover of a belt of a drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
  1. Check, whether there are yokes of valves of the cylinder No. 1 out of the corresponding contours of a cam (cam-shaft); if it so, valves (1), (2), (5) and (7) in drawing are ready to check and gap adjustment. Check klapanny gaps on valves (1), (2), (5) and (7). If yokes of valves of the cylinder No. 4 are out of the corresponding contours of a cam, check klapanny gaps on valves (3), (4), (6) and (8).

At check of a klapanny gap insert a kalibromer between a cam-shaft and a working surface of a cam of a yoke of the valve.

  1. If the klapanny gap does not correspond to technical characteristics, adjust it according to technical characteristics, turning the adjusting screw, previously having weakened a lock-nut. After adjustment fasten a lock-nut to the specified rotating moment, at the same time holding the adjusting screw motionlessly, and then be again convinced that the klapanny gap corresponds to technical requirements.

When it is cold (temperature of antifreeze makes 15 – 25°С or 59 – 77°F)

When hot (the temperature of antifreeze makes 60 – 68°С or 140 – 154°F)

On an entrance

0.13-0.17 mm (0.005 – 0.006 inches)

0.17-0.21 mm (0.007 – 0.008 inches)

On an exit

0.23-0.27 mm (0.009 – 0.010 inches)

0.28-0.32 mm (0.011 – 0.012 inches)


  1. Special инструмент6 (And) — 09917-18211. The rotating moment of an inhaling: a lock-nut of the adjusting screw of a yoke of the valve (and) — 12 N • m (1.2 kg-m, 9.0 pound on foot).
1 — a kalibromer
  1. After check and adjustment of klapanny gaps on valves (1), (2), (5) and (7), (or (3), (4), (6) and (8)) turn the crankshaft precisely on 360 degrees (one complete revolution) and check too most on valves (3), (4), (6) and (8) (or (1), (2), (5) and (7)).
  1. Adjust them as it is necessary.
  1. After check and adjustment of all valves, repeat dismantling procedure upside-down for the purpose of installation.
