Chain check on an open condition

Possible reasons of an open condition of a chain following:

Quite often reason — in a konnektor or contacts, they should be in details checked.

  • Leaky connection in a konnektor
  • Weak contact on the plug (because of dirt, corrosion or a rust, hit of extraneous objects)
  • Break in a plait of wires

At check, chains including electronic control units, such as ECM, TCM, ABS, is important to carry out careful check, since points which are easier for checking.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect weight from the accumulator.
  2. Check each konnektor on both ends of a checked chain on weakening of connection. Also check a condition of fixing of the konnektor equipped with a clamp.
1 — check on existence of weak connections
2 — the sensor
3 — ECM
  1. Using test covered contact, check both contacts of a checked chain on pressing of contacts of the covering plug. Check visually each plug on weakening of contacts (probably caused by pollution, corrosion, a rust, hit of extraneous objects etc.) As check, that contacts were densely latched in a konnektor.
1 — tension check in contacts by their connection and separation
  1. By means of procedures of consecutive check or check of the electric tension, described on the following page, check electroconducting on break and weak connection of plugs. Find exact location of anomaly if it exists.
1 — weakened obzhaty
2 — a gap
3 — a thin wire

Consecutive check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Measure resistance between konnektor contacts on both ends of a checked chain (between A-1 and S-1 in drawing). If contiguity was not defined (infinity or limit excess), it means that the chain between plugs A-1 and S-1 is opened.
  1. Disconnect a konnektor included in a chain (a konnektor - In in drawing) and measure resistance between plugs A-1 and V-1. If contiguity was not defined, it means that the chain between plugs V-1 and S-1 is opened or there is an anomaly in a konnektor – Century.

Tension check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. If in a checked chain a food moves, check of tension can be used for chain check.
  2. With all attached konnektor and the tension submitted to a checked chain, measure tension between each plug and grounding.
  3. If measurements were carried out, and results were as on the list below, it means that the chain between plugs V-1 and A-1 is opened.

Tension between:

S-1 and weight — about 5 In
V-1 and weight — about 5
In A-1 and weight — 0 In
  1. Also, if the measured values as on the list below, it means that there is a resistance (anomaly) at the level which is responsible for power failure in a chain between plugs A-1 and V-1.

Tension between:

S-1 and weight — about 5 In
V-1 and weight — about 5 In
A-1 and weight — 3 In (power failures 2 In)
