Power shaft

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Lift the car and remove a wheel.
1 — a stopper of bulk opening/level of oil
2 — a forward drain stopper
  1. Remove a flange of a power shaft.
  2. Remove a lock ring of a power shaft and a persistent washer of a forward axis of a fist.

  1. Remove flange bolts and nuts of a power shaft.

  1. Remove a power shaft on the differential party.

Not to break casings (from a wheel and from differential), be careful at removal of a power shaft that casings not to touch other parts.

  1. Remove a persistent washer of a power shaft (at the car with the G16 or J20 engine) from a power shaft and remove an oil epiploon of a power shaft.

Be careful not to damage a power shaft.

  1. Lift the car and remove a wheel.
  2. Merge differential oil.
1 — a stopper of bulk opening/level of oil
2 — a forward drain stopper
  1. Remove a flange of a power shaft
  2. Remove a lock ring of a power shaft and a persistent washer of a forward axis of a fist.
  3. Remove a fist and a wheel nave as it is described in Head the Suspension bracket, in the Section the Cylindrical spring (Removal).

  1. Remove a power shaft.
  2. To remove the springing lock ring established on a shlitsa from differential (internal connection), from differential, pull internally connection by means of the lever for tires.

Not to break casings (from a wheel and from differential), be careful at removal of a power shaft that casings not to touch other parts.

  1. Remove a persistent washer of a power shaft (at the car with the G16 or J20 engine) from a power shaft and remove an oil epiploon of a power shaft, as is shown in drawing.

Be careful not to damage a power shaft.

Dismantling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Remove a casing tape from differential.
  1. Shift a casing to the center of a shaft and remove a springing lock ring from an external holder, then take out a shaft from an external holder.

  1. Remove a lock ring, and then the case.
  2. Remove internal and external casings from a shaft.

Do not assort connection from a wheel (external connection). If in it any malfunction is found, replace it entirely.

Do not assort the spherical hinge from differential. If in the spherical hinge any malfunction is found, replace connection from differential.

Survey

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check casings on damage or breakage. If necessary, replace.
  2. Check the cutting lock ring, a springing lock ring and casing tapes on deformations or breakage. If necessary, replace.

Cleaning

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Degrease the disassembled parts (except casings). After that completely dry up them the hair dryer.
  2. Slice of a fabric clean casings. Do not wash casings in fat-free solutions of type of gasoline or kerosene, etc. It will spoil a casing.

Assembly

  • To prevent emergence of any problems caused by washing solutions, do not wash casings of knots. Their degreasing by a fabric slice is allowed.
  • For ensuring the full designed functionality of knot observe distinctions of two types of the greasing entering into a set for repair, and put the specified quantity on the corresponding knot, that is yellow greasing – on knot from a wheel, and black – from differential.
  • Bend each tape of a casing in the direction opposite to rotation forward.
  • Attaching a casing tapes, do not compress and do not warp it. The casing deformed at compression will serve less.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Put all greasing on knot from a wheel. For this purpose use the tube of greasing entering into a set of spare parts. "And": all greasing of 85 g (3.0 ounces).
  1. Put on a shaft a casing from a wheel.
  2. Fill a casing cavity with greasing (about 90 g). Before to fix a casing tape, insert a screw-driver into a casing from knot that air got to a casing, and pressure of air in a casing was leveled with the atmospheric.
  3. Fix a casing tape.
  4. Establish a casing on a power shaft so that its party with small diameter was combined with a shaft flute, and fix a casing a tape.

  1. Establish the case on a shaft.

Establish the case the party of small external diameter for the shaft end.

  1. Establish a lock ring by means of pincers for a springing lock ring.

  1. Put greasing on all surface of the case. For this purpose use the tube of greasing entering into a set of spare parts, or greasing for hubs (99000-25120).
  1. Insert the case into an external holder and fix a lock ring in a flute of an external holder.

Arrange a cut of a lock ring of "a" so that it did not coincide with a ball.

  1. Put greasing in an external holder and put on a casing an external holder. Fill a casing cavity with greasing for knots. “A”: greasing for hubs 99000-25120 (about 90 – 95g/3.2 – 3.4 ounces).
  1. At casing installation on an external holder, adjust it so that distances of "b" and “c” were such. "And" — Greasing for filling of 90-95 g (3.2 - 3.4 ounces). Length of "b": 203.2-213.2 mm (8.00 – 8.40 inches).
  1. Before fixing a casing tape, insert a screw-driver into a casing from knot that air got to a casing, and pressure of air in a casing was leveled with the atmospheric.
  2. Latch a casing tape. Check casings on dents and damages.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Establish a power shaft in return to sequence removal, paying attention to the following:
  2. Clear an oil epiploon of a forward power shaft, and then put lithium plastic greasing on an oil epiploon and a shaft of the ball hinge with axial shift of shaft (DOJ). “A”: greasing 99000-25010.
  3. Check an oil epiploon on breakage and damages. If necessary, replace.

  1. By means of a tube with internal diameter of 76 mm (2.992 inches) or it is more and external diameter of 80 mm (3.150 inches) or insert an oil epiploon while its end will not concern a step surface of a power shaft less.
    • Diameter of "a": 76 mm (2.992 inches) or are more
    • Diameter of "b": 80 mm (3.150 inches) or are less
  2. Put on a persistent washer of a power shaft (the car with the G16 or J20 engine).

  1. Right side (RH): a hand push knot from differential until its springing lock ring will not rise in a shlitsa.

Left side (LH): connect flange bolts and nuts of a power shaft. Moment of an inhaling (a): 50 N • m (5.0 kg-m, 36.5 pounds foots).

  1. Put greasing on a persistent washer of a forward axis of a fist and a forward axis of a power shaft. “A”: greasing 99000-25010.
  2. At installation of a flange of a power shaft on a nave of a wheel put hermetic on an adjoining surface of a flange of a power shaft. “B”: hermetic 99000-31090. Inhaling moment: (b) — 50 N • m (5.0 kg-m, 36.5 pounds foots).
  • Not to break casings (from a wheel and from differential), be careful at installation of a power shaft that they did not touch other parts.
  • Do not pull the knot case from differential. If the case to pull, it can be disconnected from a shaft.
  1. Fill with the specified oil for differential the differential case to the specified level.
