General description

The control system of an immobilizer created for protection of the car from thieves, consists of the following components.

  • Engine management module ECM/module of management of transmission (PCM)
  • Module of management of an immobilizer
  • The ignition key (with the built-in transmitter)
  • Frame aerial

In this system the following works are performed:

  1. Each ignition key in memory has an own code (a transmitter code). At ignition start the module of management of an immobilizer tries to read a transmitter code via the aerial established in assembly of the limiter of turn of wheels.
  2. The module of management of an immobilizer compares a transmitter code (see item 1) to what is stored in memory, and checks their compliance.
  3. When the fact of coincidence of codes as it is described above, the module of management of an immobilizer proves to be true and the management module the engine/module of management of transmission check compliance of the codes registered in them.
  4. Only after confirmation of coincidence of codes of the module of management of the engine/module of management by an immobilizer the engine starts to be started. If codes (see item 2) or codes of the module of management of an engine/immobilizer (item 3) do not coincide, the module of management of engine/transmission stop work of injectors and spark plugs.
